Feeling Famous #WW

by TerriAnn

A couple of weeks ago I got a few minutes of fame, kind of. The first was on the local news, reporting of the teaming of SF Giants and the ESRB, while the second was a live stream during the Maker Faire preview for educators. How would you react if you saw yourself (or part of yourself) online or on tv?

That is so neat! I have only had part of me on TV once, that was in high school when I did job shadow day and shadowed a news reporter for local TV station. My arm was in their Halloween coverage that evening and I was so excited over just having my ARM on tv! lol

Cookies & Clogs May 29, 2012 - 3:42 pm

Whew, good to know I’m not the only one that gets excited over that 😛

Danielle @ Royalegacy May 29, 2012 - 3:56 pm

That must have been your five minutes of fame! Ha! Thanks for sharing.

Cookies & Clogs May 29, 2012 - 4:00 pm

More like two 😛

melissa May 29, 2012 - 6:01 pm

That is so cool!!! I always wanted to be on TV!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 9:48 pm

I know it wasn’t much but it was something I had to share 😛

Jennifer May 29, 2012 - 6:24 pm

Very cool! My kids have been featured in the paper a few times. Nothing to do with my blog just great timing at fun local events.

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 9:49 pm

Really? I think that’s MUCH more interesting! That’s something they can remember as they get older 🙂

Paula @ Frosted Fingers May 29, 2012 - 6:27 pm

Haha congrats on your 2 seconds of fame 🙂

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 9:49 pm

Thank you – I’m quite proud as you can tell 😛

Kathy May 29, 2012 - 6:28 pm

I did a TV spot this past Christmas and hated it. I was so nervous and realized that I wasn’t made for TV.

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 9:59 pm

Wow, really? Nah, I’m sure you were fantastic! I would be so nervous to be directly in front of the camera like that.

Katie May 29, 2012 - 6:31 pm

even though I’m a huge A’s fan, I’ll still agree that that is pretty cool!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:00 pm

Haha, well I’ll glad position myself similarly if the A’s call me to a press interview 😛

Marianna May 29, 2012 - 7:27 pm

Those are very cool!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:00 pm

Thanks – it was a surprise to see that. I’m glad I got the news one on my phone!

Shell Fruscione May 30, 2012 - 12:10 am

How cool!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:01 pm

I thought so too. It doesn’t take much to make my day 😛

Henrietta May 30, 2012 - 4:21 am

That is exciting! I always love it when the kids are in our small town paper for school events!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:01 pm

Wow, that’s so neat! Mine will ALWAY shy away from any possibility of being in the limelight.

Anne May 30, 2012 - 5:29 am

Fun! We were filmed once at a science museum, the kids loved it

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:02 pm

I would have love to see that! Did it get posted on the museum’s site?

Cindy Orley May 30, 2012 - 6:19 am

So fun! I bet if you contact your local TV or radio stations, you could get on with your blog to talk about mom or family related products. I’ve been on several stations and they are always looking to do features involving moms, just try contacting them.

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:04 pm

I never thought about that. I always assumed I’ve have to pay to get on. That’s definitely a great idea. I’m sure it’s probably nerve-wracking but is just like anything in which you need practice. Thank you for the suggestion. If I do ever get featured I’ll have to let you know 🙂

Anne - Mommy Has to Work May 30, 2012 - 6:59 am

I would think it was cool! Congrats! 🙂

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:19 pm

Thank you! I’m always pretty self-conscious when I see cameras so I’m just happy it wasn’t of me picking my nose or something 😛

Jenn @therebelchick May 30, 2012 - 8:17 am

Looks like so much fun!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:20 pm

We had a great time at both events. Very different in nature but still made fab memories at each.

Whitney at It's Gravy, Baby! May 30, 2012 - 8:39 am

That is so neat! I’m one of those people that would shy away from the cameras- I’d hate to see myself on TV. LOL

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:22 pm

Me too. I knew there were cameras set up at the conference but had no idea which companies they were filming for. As for the Maker Faire, the space was so small that the camera guys was going around everyone and it was actually tough to avoid 😛

Katy May 30, 2012 - 8:47 am

Can I have your autograph? 😉

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:22 pm

Sure, I have a pretty ugly one though 😛

Not So Average Mama May 30, 2012 - 9:14 am

Yer bootie be all famous and stuff!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:23 pm

I know, I should get some insurance on it like J Lo 😛

Lisa from Life with Lisa May 30, 2012 - 9:40 am

That looks like fun…you got your 15 minutes of fame!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:23 pm

Funny how such little things make us so excited, eh?

maryann at Matthew's Puzzle May 30, 2012 - 12:12 pm

That looks pretty cool.

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:31 pm

Thanks – I got a kick out of it if you couldn’t tell 😛

Carolyn G May 30, 2012 - 4:04 pm

YAY! I need your autograph now! You go girl

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:32 pm

Haha, what I really needed to do was wear some of my logos to ‘pimp’ it out 😛

Jenna @ For The Love of Baby! May 30, 2012 - 4:05 pm

Pretty cool! And yeah, it’s always “odd” to see yourself lol

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:33 pm

I guess it’s like hearing yourself – always strange from what you’re used to.

Alison May 30, 2012 - 5:06 pm

You are a star!!

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:34 pm

Yes, a very itty-bitty, tiny, minuscule one 😛

Lisa May 30, 2012 - 5:28 pm

How fun! congratulations. I never like to see myself on tv but maybe that’s just me.
I saw someone above suggested you contact the local tv stations… I think you would be great on 7Live. Have you ever watched?

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:35 pm

7Live? That’s like big-time! I think I’d definitely have to build up some nerve for that. I was once partially interviewed for a company’s online ad spot but almost all of it got cut out except for one ugly face 😛 You, my dear would fare much better than me!

jen May 30, 2012 - 7:00 pm

How fun! I love that you saved screen shots! I was in the back of a YouTube video once, and I saved screen shots and put them in a photobook 🙂

Cookies & Clogs May 30, 2012 - 10:37 pm

Now that is cool! What was it for? For the tv one, my husband told me they were going to talk about it so I decided to hold up my iPhone to record it – that made it easy to pull and image.

BusyWorkingMama May 31, 2012 - 3:35 am

Fun! Happy Thursday!

Cookies & Clogs May 31, 2012 - 10:58 am

Thank you – likewise!

Beth May 31, 2012 - 4:57 am

Wow lots of fun! Right now the limit seems to be Girl Scout activities featured in the newspaper! 🙂

Cookies & Clogs May 31, 2012 - 10:59 am

That’s cool all in itself. Did you jump in any of the photos? 😛

Nancy @ Ollie McKays May 31, 2012 - 11:46 am

Yay!! Love it ~ very cool! 🙂

Cookies & Clogs June 3, 2012 - 11:00 am

Thanks!

Thryn June 1, 2012 - 5:41 am

That is very neat! Sounds like fun!

Cookies & Clogs June 3, 2012 - 11:00 am

It was a cool moment 🙂

Kasandria Reasoner June 1, 2012 - 10:39 am

That’s so cool!
