My Neighbor Totoro [DVD/Blu-Ray]

My Neighbor Totoro DVD Blu-ray 2-Disc Combo, Review Product Provided…

A classic family film that many might not know of is My Neighbor Totoro. This Japanese animation (anime) full-length feature was directed by the famed Hayao Mitazaki and, since being brought over by Disney with a dubbed soundtrack, has won the hearts of many families here in the US. My Neighbor Totoro is a heartwarming tale of childhood imagination and the special bond between sisters. It’s cute, sweet, quirky, and I love Totoro and Cat Bus (I’ve had those magnets for years)!

To celebrate it’s 25th anniversary, Disney is now releasing My Neighbor Totoro for the first time on Blu-Ray. You’re sure to fall in love with it as much as we have. It’s great to see a movie my family has enjoyed for so long get a digital makeover with enhanced sound and interesting extras.

What is the film about? Here’s a summary and trailer to give you a better idea of the story:

Lauded as “one of the most beloved of all family films” by critic Roger Ebert, “My Neighbor Totoro” is the heartwarming story of sisters Satsuki (voiced by Dakota Fanning) and Mei (voiced by Elle Fanning). Much to their delight, when Satsuki and her four-year-old sister Mei move into a new home in the countryside, they discover that their new neighbor is a mysterious forest creature called Totoro—who can be seen only through the eyes of children. Totoro introduces them to extraordinary characters—including a catbus—and takes them on an incredible journey.
