My childhood is coming back in many ways. Netflix Streaming continues to get better as they introduce new original series based on some of my favorite shows of the past. For example, Popples and Care Bears & Cousins making a return with their own Netflix Original shows! How exciting is that?!

My family received this nifty “blast from the past” care packages and I was totally geeking out. Ah, the fabulous days of multiple pairs of color tube socks, high ponytails, Keds and Reebok high tops, and jelly sandals. It’s the 80s/90s all over again and I’m lovin’ it. Late 80s and early 90s make up the best years in my humble opinion 🙂

Netflix Original Glitter Force

Along the same lines, more fun from my younger days is on the way. One show I am ridiculously looking forward to coming to Netflix is the original series Glitter Force. I spent so many years watching subtitled Japanese anime and reading fan translated manga that it’s embarrassing. However, it’s so nostalgic to see some of the art style being so mainstream, even spawning a new series for this next generation that didn’t know the appeal of Sailor Moon of so many eons ago.

Glitter Force will have the expected big, monstrous eyes, the brightly-colored frilly matching outfits, and the hair that seems to have volume to spare. Ah, isn’t it glorious?! I’ll have to wait for the first episode to see if the bouncy theme song and high-pitched voices are included too. Netflix Original Series Glitter Force will be premiering on December 18th!

Here’s the official summary for any of the fan girls or fan girls-to-be out there:

Five preteen girls learn they’re a legendary superhero squad known as the Glitter Force. Their mission? To defend Earth from evil fairytale villains.
