Dirt Devil Easy Lite Cyclonic Quick Vac

by TerriAnn

As my daughter gets older, we have been trying to give her more chores and tasks to do. Ideally vacuuming should have been assigned much earlier but the stinkin’ upright vacuum we have is too heavy and bulky for her to maneuver. Enter the Dirt Devil Easy Lite Cyclonic Quick Vac (whew, that’s a mouthful/type-ful) and that issue has been tackled. From the day we got it, my daughter was constantly asking when she could vacuum. Thank you, Dirt Devil! See my little one in action:

Dirt Devil Easy Lite Cyclonic Quick VacThe absolute best part about this vacuum has to be its weight. This makes it so easy to use and moving it around objects is a breeze. It sucks a lot (in a good way) and I love the instant gratification of seeing the dirt swirl around the dust chamber. The rinsable HEPA filter is a nice feature for allergy sufferers (like us) as well. Cleaning it is as easy as taking out the bin, popping the bottom open, then closing it and replacing it. Unfortunately, some hair clusters get stucked further inside so I generally have to reach in and pull it out with my fingers. Kind of nasty…

Another drawback is the sound. On hard surfaces it’s loud but tolerable. The minute the brushes hit the carpet, though, it sounds like it’s eating the shag up. So, while it might clean carpet just as well, I can’t bear to hear the sound it makes, imagining it’s doing more harm than good. We prefer to use the Dirt Devil Easy Lite on our tile/vinyl floors in the kitchen and two bathrooms. This suits us fine as we just need a quick pick-up every few days in those rooms and love not having to lug the big vacuum out for that.

The Dirt Devil Easy Lite Cyclonic Quick Vac is best used a a second vacuum for small messes and general tidying up. I’ve also seen them advertised for dorm rooms and think that’s a perfect fit use too. For a mere $40-$50, it’s a reasonable buy!

As part of a promotional program with The Mommy Factor and DirtDevil, I received a vacuum for review purposes. No other compensation was received. Views expressed are always 100% my own.

Now that’s interesting because you’d think it would be more quiet on carpet! It sure seemed to be doing a good job though. I could see all the swirly action!

I love the swirlies! Hehe, funny how it doesn’t take much to entertain us, eh?

What a great vacuum. I love that your daughter is vacuuming without being asked. That is so awesome!

I’d want to get something like that for the house. I like that it’s lightweight. Even my daughter would think of it as a toy :). Now, that’s a good way to get the kids to help out around the house 🙂

I have this vac and have found that it gets clogged easily. There are 2 cats in my house and 4 people (counting my 8 yr old nephew). I bought a new vac and have not had trouble since but we still keep this 1 for when the other 1 is unavailable (like when the belt breaks).
