I can’t believe my little girl is already 14 years old!  One minute we were watching her take her first steps and now we’re dreading the fact that she might be driving soon! Where did all the time go?!

Save, Organize, and Share Their Childhood Memories

When my daughter was born, I diligently put together a baby book to keep all of those childhood memories of her safe and close to our hearts. I even continued to add photos until she was about two. Then it just stopped when life got in the way.

We still have tons of digital photos and video as she has grown but those mainly live on an external hard drive we rarely look at. Parents in a similar situation will be glad to learn of a new private network called Notabli.

Notabli is a free service for parents to easily record all the milestones in their children’s lives, both large and small, and privately share them with friends and family. You can even set certain entries to only be viewable to the parents.

The ad-free website is super easy to use and very fast for a quick update here and there. Registration, use, and automatic uploads to Dropbox are free. Documenting those childhood memories is a cinch! What kinds of “moments” can you add? You can upload any and all of the following.

  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Quotes
  • Notes
  • Sound recordings

It’s basically a private family blog with less work and more security. Plus, you have everything in one place so family living far away can get to know your little ones as they grow older.

I would have loved this for when my daughter was younger. There were all sorts of silly things she would say or do that I wish we could have kept a record of. And, since her moments are only viewable by those who I want to share the with, we could actually show her full face and include embarrassing bits that could never go public. It was so cute how she said washamadryer (washing machine/dryer), noo-nools (noodles), and how she would stare in the mirror and blow spit bubbles!

Plus, kids never seem to perform on command and they surprise us at the most unexpected times with their cuteness or mischievousness. In such cases, the free iOS app is fantastic for catching those childhood memories at an instant’s notice and while on the go. Don’t worry Android users, app will be available for you soon.

How Notabli Makes Parenthood Even More Special

I think the idea behind Notabli is remarkable and it fills a void in the digital space for families:

Jackson Latka, Head of Product for Parent Co., came up with the idea for Notabli after becoming a parent himself and realizing that he had a great amount of valuable content and no place to easily organize and share with close family and friends.

“On the surface, Notabli is a way to share your kids’ moments with the people who actually want to see them. But below the surface it’s a powerful archive of the most important time of life,” said Latka. “So instead of selfies, status updates, and pictures of last night’s dinner, parents save moments in their children’s lives that they want remembered. Ultimately, Notabli is the first step towards making something that parents can pass on to their children.”

So, instead of superficial updates, Notabli helps parents remember and share the moments that really matter. I love this! It’s going to be even better when the option to upload media from other networks is available. The only update I hope to see is that they fix the screen errors when your kid has a long name (wrong text placement and can’t upload a cover).
