Home Family Hooray For Fudge!

Hooray For Fudge!

by TerriAnn
Adorable and sweet Fudge — the 6-week-old pit bull puppy we were foster parents for.

FUDGE UPDATE! After calling around and emailing several rescues and shelter, it was not looking good. But we were finally able to find a foster home. 45 minutes after dropping him off, he was adopted! Yay for Fudge!

Thanks to Vicky at AHAN for tirelessly helping us find a foster, Wendy and her husband for taking Fudge in and helping him to get adopted, and thank you to Rocket Dog Rescue for offering support in our desperation.

Thanks! But now we miss him… We know that as first-time owners we are not a good fit for a pit but he was a sweetie!

I know. I just had to (have to) keep reminding myself that we, as first-time dog owners, would not be able to raise a happy pit as they need consistent, firm owners.

Im glad you were able to find Fudge a home. We are first time owners also and i wish we had done more research on what breed would have been a good fit for us.

Good luck in finding one that fits your family.

Thank you. I’ve done so much research that I don’t think I learned anything though 😛

You’re lab is adorable though. Just make sure you learn about crate-training and your lab will need a lot of exercise so take it for a jog everyday.

Oh my goodness, Fudge is adorable! I’m sure he is going to bring tons of wonderful companionship to his new owner. Your a sweetheart for allowing him in and keeping him warm until he could find a foster home. People can be so cruel and its refreshing to hear about someone taking the time to rescue an animal in need. I have 3 small dogs and 2 cats that are my babies! I love stories like this!

Sadly it happens a lot. I’m just glad we were able to take him in and find him a great home. It was an extreme situation but, after the fact, we found that the pros of having a dog far outweighed the cons.

It’s just wonderful that you were able to find a new home for Fudge. What a cutie!

Hugs…Tracy 🙂

We’re happy too. I’m going to try to get an update on him in a few months. In the meantime, we are picking up our new puppy next week so stay tuned for pics 🙂

kudos to you for the way you handled this

Thanks 🙂 It would have been awesome if we would keep him but we know that we’re not ideal ‘pit’ owners.
