For any couple to survive parenthood and not be total strangers when the kids leave home, date nights are essential. Parent date nights don’t have to formal. Just hanging at home together can do the world of good. The main thing is, obviously, spend time with each other sans kids.

An Obstacle to Parent Date Nights

So how do you get rid of the little ones for a little while? Many put off these mini-getaways because they don’t have family or trusted friends nearby to watch the children. You can use a trusted service like UrbanSitter!

Okay, okay. I know what you’re thinking, “I don’t want to leave my kids with strangers!” I can 100% understand that. Many parents are weary of leaving their offspring alone with a sitter, especially one they don’t know well. What if you were able to find someone that your friends are completely happy with – a capable, loving, and responsible individual that your children adore?

That’s what UrbanSitter helps to ensure.

An online and mobile service for parents and sitters to connect through people they know, UrbanSitter makes booking a trusted babysitter as easy as booking dinner reservations. The site offers its members several key differentiators, including trust, efficiency, real-time booking and online payment.

Oh, my! Yes! We have been having a horrible time finding someone responsible that we like to watch the kids regularly… and I NEED a date night soon or I might explode. It is tough to find.

My husband and I need to find some reliable sitters in our area. We had one and she graduated so now we never go out!

When we first moved from Canada to the U.S. we knew no one to watch our daughter for us to go out. We ended up utilizing a drop in service where we took her to play the odd time we needed it until we met some people with teenagers – so I know how valuable a service like this is!

I remember when services like UrbanSitter and SitterCity starting popping up all over the place. My youngest had just been born and my oldest was about 2 and a half and we lived in a new city where we didn’t know a lot of people. I was tempted to use the service, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Now, several people I know use these kinds of places all the time and they love it.

My 4 sons are all raised-thank God-but the issues of adult children are even harder. But we do babysit for our 3 grandchildren who live nearby and the 2 who live out of state when they are here.. I became a grandmother @ age 45. I know how much the parents need assistance because I remember I was CRAZY to get out of the house and around adults.

My husband and I strive to have date night minus children at least once or twice a week, even if it means shopping without the kids or going to the gym – as long as we have that time together. 🙂

We share sitters on some local social media sites. But if we did not have those I would try this out.
