While freezing temperatures and snowy storms are plaguing much of the country, things have been a bit different here on the west coast. While the severe lack of precipitation has put California in an official drought, I wouldn’t quite say we’ve been suffering.
Winter in California
The ongoing temperature has been holding around the high 60s to the low 70s with no winds and beautifully blue skies. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we’ve even been getting out our sandals, shorts, and t-shirts. Just this Monday, we decided it would be good to get out and enjoy the weather. This was taken during our mini-outing:
Yep, short-sleeved shirts, sunglasses, and frozen yogurt – this is how we’re spending the winter months. With all the nice weather, though, I’m kind of worried what the next season will bring as it seemed we skipped part of the cycle.

I’m so jealous! LOL. I don’t even want to go outside right now. It’s in the single digits tonight in Oklahoma.
Ugh, we are in the midst of a nasty cold snap and just had a big snow storm… bah.
We’re having arctic temperatures here. It isn’t suppose to get above freezing until Saturday afternoon. I’m so over this and want spring to hurry and get here!
The great thing this year about analyzing the weather in North Texas is that it’s our first winter here! We’ve heard everyone say it’s on the nippy side, but when you’re used to South Dakota and Canadian winters, well we think it’s just balmy out there, LOL!
I’m in Florida and it’s been very cold for us. IN the 30’s and 40’s!! Brr
Yum eat some for me, I have always wanted to try Yogurtland!! It is -10 here today, brrrrr!!!
Oh I am so jealous! We are currently at 1 degrees with more snow expected tomorrow. Yay for the Chicago area! High of 23 tomorrow, with a low of -11 degrees. Tropical, eh?
I’m in Vegas so I am enjoying very similar weather! We’re only a few degrees below you guys &it’s been perfect for going to the park and hanging out outdoors.
I recently saw an image that said “The best part of winter is watching it on TV from Las Vegas”. Certainly looks like we can say the same thing for your city too!

I woke up to a light dusting snow and a layer of ice. Just rub it in why don’t you! LOL
Sounds nice! Almost as nice as the day we rode jet skis from one end of Florida to the other. 🙂
I’m here in sunny Sacramento (yes, it’s sunny), and it’s pretty much about the same as San Fransisco. I can’t believe that it hasn’t rained all season, maybe once I believe. I’m curious as to what the next season will bring too, lol.
I miss the sun! Our texas winter has been unusually cold for us this year … I’m starting to get tired of it!

You’re pretty darn lucky lady, we have been pretty cold, even here in Florida.
60’s and 70’s would be heavenly! It’s been in the high 30’s and low 40’s here in Utah.
