Aaahhhh! This month is so crazy! You know the phrase, “the calm before the storm?” Well, the storm is here! Not only do we have important back-to-back appointments and events with family and friends, but there are also some major things happening here at home. Combine that with travel plans, both recent and upcoming, and we will be surviving on pure adrenaline starting now! Fortunately, my CVS app is giving me a boost of help but I’ll get to that a little later.

In addition to all of those plans, Frans and I have decided that he will be making the leap to full-time blogger as well. He’ll continue to support and write on Cookies & Clogs but will be spending more time on his dad/male blog, Frans FYI, and his site for Dutch travelers, Verover Amerika. He ran a pretty successful digital magazine from before we met and, since he has been working alongside me these past six years of blogging, he has an incredible amount of experience in knowing how to best serve the community he will inevitably grow.

When Munchkin is better able to juggle the workload of high school, she will likely join us as a teen blogger/vlogger. It’s so exciting that this little venture has turned into something that is able to support our family. However, the whole notion is quite scary. To go from a traditional, secular job to working for yourself, and in a new space such as online media, it can be so unnerving. I just hope it all works out!

CVS/Pharmacy ExtraCare & My CVS App

As you know, I’ve had the opportunity to work with CVS/Pharmacy quite a bit. As I was chatting with the company about how CVS fits into my life, the official store app immediate came up. Since my life is so strained right now, I just don’t have the luxury of wasting any time and I have to make every minute count. That’s why I love the convenience of using my CVS app.

Just this morning I received an email to get $4 off my next purchase. Instead of having to cut out a coupon, print out the email, etc. I can simply send the offer directly to my ExtraCare card. The card is already linked to my CVS app and the savings are instantly available. That way, the next time I go to CVS, the cashier only needs to scan the barcode on my phone and BAM! I will have just saved $4!

CVS App Time-Saving Features

Oh, about the savings card. I never carry the physical card with me. I have too much stuff in my bag to fuss with finding loyalty cards. Plus, since my ExtraCare account number is already saved in my CVS app, I only need to have my smartphone on me to save. And when do I NOT have my smartphone? The thing is pretty much glued to my hand at all times so I can quickly access the app whenever I need to.

Then there’s the reorder feature. Once I use the app to order needed items, those selections are saved and can be easily ordered again. It’s so nice being able to just tap “reorder” and a list is populated with the products you use most.

A new feature in the CVS app streamlines the process of prescription. Starting out as a pharmacy, it just makes sense that CVS excels in making this easier for customers. Instead of having to use precious minutes to fill out information you’ve filled out dozens of times before, you can simply show the app and the pharmacist can get you what you need. All of the necessary information regarding your account and prescription is saved so you only need to show the app and pick up your order. Nice, right?

As you can see, the CVS app really comes in handy. I use it every time I go to the store and have gotten into the habit of loading up every offer to my account as soon as it hits my email inbox. I still need to try out the reorder and pharmacy info features. I’m sure there will be plenty of times to take advantage of those this month. If CVS/Pharmacy can save me an extra trip to the store, I’m in. Yay to one less errand to run!
