LISTERINE 21-Day Challenge…

Last month, I signed up for the LISTERINE 21-Day Challenge. My oral care routine has been slacking lately and I need a little motivation in getting back on track. That and I’d like to lessen the need for me to down so many breath mints (I know, TMI…)

LISTERINE 21-Day Challenge Supplies with Mouthwash Rinse Toothbrushes and Floss

Once upon a time I would brush and floss at least twice a day if not more. Later on, my husband and I even did our best to teach our daughter good oral hygiene from the time she was young. To this day, we still make sure she cares for her teeth each morning, when she gets up or before we go out, and each evening before going to bed.For me, though, I’m so pooped by the time it’s time to sleep that I just want to climb into bed and zonk out. I feel like a horrible mom being to strict with my daughter yet letting my own care slip.

Taking part in the LISTERINE 21-Day Challenge means I am committing to brushing, flossing, and using LISTERINE ® ULTRACLEAN® twice a day for three full weeks. I’m really hoping this will help me to get into a good habit of taking care of my teeth and, in addition, setting a better example for my daughter. In fact, she can’t wait to do this along with me!

There were also some interesting facts that were brought to my attention that made me want to take part even more:

  • Did you know that brushing alone misses 75% of your mouth?
  • Oral disease is now the most chronic childhood illness in the U.S.
  • Nearly half of American adults also suffer from some form of periodontal (gum) disease and may not even know it.
  • As many as 130 million Americans lack dental insurance, including more than 15.4 million children.

Little Girl Brushing Her TeethWant to join me? For every person that signs up for this challenge on Facebook, LISTERINE will make a contribution to help Oral Health America’s Smiles Across America® program in connecting up to 210,000 children with needed oral health services in 2013. ($6.40 will be donated for per sign-up, up to $64,000.) If you use LISTERINE® therapeutic mouthwash as directed for 21 days and don’t feel a difference, you will receive a full refund for your purchase. Offer valid until June 30, 2013. Visit www.facebook.com/listerine for details.

Starting tonight, I am going to lay all my supplies out including a rinse cup so I won’t ‘accidentally’ forget to keep my end of the challenge. Follow along to see what difference this will make for me and, if you decided to take the 21-day challenge as well, let me know how you’re doing so we can get happy, healthy mouths and teeth together 🙂

I received products from Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Products Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. and The Motherhood as part of my participation in the LISTERINE® 21 Day Challenge. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own.

It’s alarming to note how the oral disease has become so chronic! Though we insist upon our children to follow a healthy oral hygiene routine, we tend to ignore it due to our own hectic schedules! It’s time for us too to practice what we teach. I’m inspired by this challenge too Terri!

I’m glad to hear that. So far I’ve been doing pretty good and say I feel more confident when talking with & smiling at people 🙂
