Just off the California coast, along the 17-Mile Drive in Pebble Beach, stands an iconic tree . . .
The Lone Cypress
It’s not uncommon to see cypress trees in Pebble Beach, CA. However, the Lone Cypress is different. All by itself, this single tree stands atop a huge granite rock planted right next to the Pacific Ocean. The tree seems so out of place compared to its surroundings.
Since tourists are only allowed to view the tree from a distance, we pretty much just got out of the car, took a few photos, and then moved on. Still,I’m glad to have finally seen the Lone Cypress in person.
