Maxwell House Instant Latte

by TerriAnn

Last week I receive a box of free samples from Kraft First Taste. It contained (4) snack-size packages of Original Wheat Thins, (2) packages of Maxwell House Vanilla Caramel Latte, (1) coupon for a free 4-pack of Philadelphia Minis, (1) coupon for a free Kraft Olive Oil Mayo, and (1) $10 off $30 mail-in rebates on Kraft products.

Regarding the Maxwell House Vanilla Caramel Latte, I was hoping I would enjoy it. I love the smell of coffee but just cannot drink it unless it’s loaded with sugar. Even with the package sealed closed the sweet vanilla and caramel scents were abundant. I hope it would taste quite as sweet as it smelled. After the water was boiled, I emptied the package into my mug. When the water was being poured in the flavored crystals made a crackling noise. I filled the mug about 3/4 full with water then added milk to top it off. There was a nice froth on the top and it smelled wonderful. My verdict? I liked it. In fact, I even drank the other included sample a couple days later.

The drink was smooth and savory. The vanilla and caramel flavors were not too sweet and did not overpower the base coffee flavor. At 60 calories it’s not too bad and very tasty. The milk added a bit of substance and I like the frothy layer on top. If you topped it with cream and caramel as shown in the picture, you could imagine you are sitting outside a quaint little Parisian cafe. I have to say that this was a pleasant discovery and I may buy this again in the future as I get a little tired of always drinking tea when my husband enjoys his coffee so much.

o0o0 yummy! I’d like to try this. I love coffee, but I can only can stand it if it has some milk or flavor and sugar in it. My boyfriend is a coffee lover, I’m mostly a tea lover. But sometimes I like to get a hot cup of coffee. This looks yummy. =] Is it just a packet of flavoring or is it instant coffee? Anyways, I’ll try it next time I see it at the store.

Well, I guess if it’s called “instant latte” it must be instant coffee so I don’t have to haul out the coffee pot. lol! I like how it’s a serving in one package! =]
